Term 3 Coaches Locked-In

Regional Academy are proud to announce the lead coaches for our Term 3 programs that begin this Sunday the 11th of August.

Introductory Programs

Once again leading Mini Hoops is Lauren Skelly, Lauren has developed in to a terrific coach who takes great pride in her sessions and the Mini Hoops program. Lauren has been coaching Mini Hoops since it began in Term 1 of 2018 and has helped build the program in to one of the most popular sessions the Regional Academy offers.

Mini Hoops runs 5 mornings a week (Monday to Friday) at 10, for more information and to register for the program please click HERE.

Leading our Aussie Hoops program is Abby Chernishoff, Abby is an NBL1 and Big V player with the Frankston Blues and is also studying to be a teacher. Abby has led our Aussie Hoops and Slam Dunk School Holiday Camps and was also invited by Basketball Australia to assist with the Aussie Hoops special event “Day Out with Delly” where she was one of 10 coaches in Victoria to assist Matthew Dellavedova in running an Aussie Hoops session at the State Basketball Centre. Abby is one of the Regional Academy’s best coaches and her Aussie Hoops sessions are not to be missed!

Development Programs

Don’t call it a comeback! Regional Academy is proud to announce the return of one of their favourite coaches in Chris Ash! “Ashy” has been passing on his wisdom to the athletes at Caulfield Grammar of late but now their season is over he is free to resume coaching in our Domestic Academy program. Ashy is well known as one of the most skillful and high basketball IQ guards to ever play in the SEABL competition but he is now a master a communicating these skills with young players who are currently trying to work on their game and climb the ranks in their domestic competitions. We look forward to having Ashy back on court and we know that Domestic Academy participants are sure to have a great time and walk away from Term 3 much better players!

In the Rep Prep space we have two NBL1 players leading the way with Basketball Development Manager and Frankston Blues guard Jarryd Moss leading the program but also leading Rep Prep sessions this term will be NBL1 star with the Frankston Blues and current U12 Girls coach in the Frankston Blues junior program, Steph Reid. Steph has developed her already outstanding knowledge of the game as a high IQ point guard by coaching in the Junior Blues program in 2019. Steph knows exactly what it takes to become a “Rep” player and will be a terrific coach in these program working with aspiring Rep players, helping them prepare for tryouts.
